Over the next few weeks in Maths, we are studying Fractions and Time.
This is what we will be learning:
-Identify and name simple fractions ie half, quarter, third, fifth, tenth
-Write simple fractions in words and symbols (ie half/ ½)
-Recognise that some fractions are the same (ie ½ and 2/4)
-Order fractions smallest to largest and largest to smallest with the same denominator (bottom number) ie
1, 2, 3, 4
4 4 4 4
-Solve fraction of a set problems by using skip counting/times table & division knowledge
ie There are 2 people and 10 biscuits. How many biscuits do they get each? (2,4,6,8,10 =5 or 2x5=10 or 10÷2=5)

Measurement (time).
Learning Intentions:
-Know the days of the week and months of the year
-Read analogue time (o’ clock, half past)
-Read digital time
-Know a given time in analogue time and change to digital time (ie half past four is 4.30)
-Know a given time in digital time and change to analogue time (ie 4.30 is half past four)
-Reading calendars
-Asking children to tell the time from clocks at home
Extension:
(If your child knows how to read o’clock and half past)
-Read quarter to and quarter past in analogue and digital time
-Read analogue and digital time in five minute intervals
