Reuben's visit to Room 8

Reuben’s visit to Room 8.
Nibble, nibble, nibble. Today amazing Room 8 had a special visitor called Reuben. He was such a cute lamb. She came here because we had never seen a baby lamb, but I have.

First Nikki, Robyn and of course Reuben entered our wonderful class. Robyn was telling us some things about Reuben. Reuben was a cute little boy lamb. He didn’t have a mum because his mother kept pushing him away. The reason why his great mother pushed him is because she had another boy lamb. His mum gave birth to Reuben  5 short days ago. He had a pair of sharp horns as sharp as someone’s tooth. He was wearing two nappies and he had no teeth.

Next Reuben got to have a walk around the class. He was quietly nibbling on Frederick’s jacket, Jonathan’s jacket and my navy jacket. “Yuck!” He was walking on me, Sheena and Sandhya hardly! He was still wandering around the room and some eager children wanted to pat him. Reuben was just too adorable.

After that Sandhya got to feed Reuben his milk and from his bottle. One of his nappies fell off! ¨Ha! Ha! Ha!¨ But he had it changed to his new nappie, same as the other one.  When he finished changing into his nappie that had a special hole for his tail he still had a teeny bit time to walk around and everyone had a pat. They went home quickly and we started our wonderful, great recounts.

I felt excellent like I was very, very rich. I thought that it was the best visit and I would like to see some more lambs or sheep next time or whenever!!!!! “I really would like to see a some more please!” Please let it be a fluffy lamb, because he wasn’t that fluffy. (Well sort of.)Only a little bit.

Reuben’s visit to Room 8

Mrs Taege told  us that we were having a special visitor. I wondered who it would be. Nicky was outside Room 8 and she was holding something as white as a sheet of washing. I thought it was a bunny and that’s when I noticed it was a cute fluffy lamb.

Then Nicky and Robyn came inside with Reuben. He was a boy lamb and a twin. His mother didn’t care a bit about Reuben because she was busy looking after Reuben’s twin. I thought that was a really mean thing to do to a lamb that was just 1 day old. Reuben had no teeth so he couldn’t harm us. He eats 3 to 4 times a day. Reuben was wearing two nappies.

After Robyn told us about Reuben she let him go.Reuben started scampering about and walking into people’s lap.She really liked Sandhya. Maybe because she liked the smell of her.Just then Reuben’s nappy fell of so Nicky said she would show us how to put on an nappy and that’s when I noticed there was a hole in lamb’s nappies because its tail needs a hole to go into.

Finally Reuben looked like he was hungry. So Robyn told Sandhya  if she wanted to feed Reuben because  she had been really brave when Reuben had started scampering on her and Sandhya said okay. She fed him some milk from a nice cold bottle. The lamb drank  it up in 1 minute. It was still drinking when all of the milk had gone. What a weird thing to do.

I felt  sorry for Reuben because he had no mother to
care for him. When he left I got over with it. I was still thinking about him when it was Reading.

Black Hat and Yellow Hat Thinking

The Monkeys reading group read a book about some Grandparents who lived in a bus instead of an ordinary house. They used black and yellow hat thinking for the positive and negative things about living in a bus.

W.A.L.T: Write recounts

Here are some of the recounts we have been writing. We hope you enjoy them.

Room 8’s Fun Fitness!

Ready...Set...Go!!! Room 8 was having lots of fun on the rough Tiger Turf. Mrs Taege had planned a really fun fitness for us on this lovely Monday morning!

First, we did speedy relay races and we had to strike awesome poses.’’Cool’’I said to myself as Mrs Taege said “I would like you to do an unusual pose like…..”She showed us some unusual poses.”Go!” Mrs Taege shouted as we ran to strike those awesome poses in the hoop at the far end. 3….2….1! We ran back after 3 seconds of holding our poses, allowing the second teammate to go and do the same. All of us had a turn at posing. We also did a cool relay where we had to balance a beanbag on our heads.’’Go!’’Mrs Taege shouted and another relay started! I ran to get the beanbag from the hoop.’’Go Aidan!’’my team were hollering above the noise of my classmates to me! I got the and skilfully walked back like a penguin! Once I had got back to my team, another person went to do the relay.

Next, we played Rob the nest. Our groups got into a X shape, facing a hoop with beanbags in the middle.’’Go!’’ Mrs Taege shouted as the front people took off to get beanbags like a jet plane rushing to go somewhere. My team were fast,as if they had strapped rocket boosters to themselves! At the end, my team had won 6 games! I thought 6 games were pretty impressive.

Finally, we went back to class, had a little drink, and sat down on the mat.
I felt totally exhausted, but it was so exciting. Now, I can't wait for Athletics day to arrive! My favourite activity was playing Rob the nest because everyone were chanting at their teammates which made me feel more confident.

                              Fun Fitness

“Ready set go” shouted Mrs Taege when Room 8 were doing fun fitness on the damp wet tiger turf.

First Mrs Taege told us to do some relays. We did a relay where we had to run to the hoop and strike our best pose for three seconds.Once we did a pose for three seconds we quickly ran back and the next person started.

Next we had to balance a bean bag on our head all the way to the hoop or run there.I found it very hard to balance the bean bag on my slippery head. On my head the bean bag felt like a soft pillow.

Finally we played a game called rob the nest. The aim of the game was that you had to quickly run and try to pick up the bean bags from the middle hoop.If none of of the teams had three beanbags you had to go to another team hoop and rob their bean bags. While I was running to a hoop my team was shouting “Go Alisha Go Alisha” as I tried to get heaps of bean bags.Sheena went after me and we had to run really really fast to try to get the lucky number three.

I felt really tired after we played all those relays.I really hope that we can go and do all of those relay activities again some other day.My favourite activity was balancing a bean bag on your head because when you do it you look like a clown in a circus show.

Fun  Fitness

On your marks Get set go! .Room8 was doing awesome fitness on a wet cruel cloudy morning. We did it on the wet turf.

Next  we quickly  lined up in a team like a marching band but we were  in teams that mrs Taege put us in. “Red,blue yellow  red,” she shouted like tarzan whooo. Then we did relays. We did strike a pose. Its when you run super fast to the hop and do a pose  like a famous person would do. After that we did balancing the bean bag.Its when you run like Flash to the hop. Then we put the squishy bean bag  on your head and walk back looking like a clown.

Next we played Rob the nest like animals. Then we raced to the hop and got a bean bag  and raced back. Then we had to  steel like robbers. Then with the bean bag i ran back like a cheetah. The first to get three wins. “What a fun morning ‘’said Bryan.

Finally it was over. I felt extreme like James Bond. I loved it because it was my first  time to
play with Min,Alisha, Seung Joon,Aida and Sheena. We came second.

                                              Fun Fitness
Ready Set Go Go Go! Room 8 was having some fun fitness on the middle of the wet turf on a sunny Monday morning.

First Mrs Tage put us into our fair groups. “Yellow red blue red yellow red blue red” said Mrs Taege so we knew what colour we had. The first relay we did was a weird one it was strike a pose. it was when you you ran to the coloured hoop and strike a cool pose. We also did another relay. It was when you throw a beanbag up in the air like the beanbag was pouncing like a dog. Go! shouted Mrs Taege I started to run fast like the wind I got to the hoop and quickly threw it up in the air so I could help give victory to my team.

Next was to run to the hoop where the beanbag was waiting. We would have to skillfully balance the squared shaped beanbag and then once again she said “Go!” I ran as if I was in the olympics and i could see the finish line line. “Go jonathan” my team was chanting I got to the hoop easily but going back would be a lot harder but i didn’t let my team down. I was coming back as fast and quickly I could. I finished the relay so now it was my favourite part. Greatfully cheering the rest of my team on.

After that we didn’t do a relay it was a game called rob the nest. This is how you play you split up into four groups. Then Mrs Tage shouted “Go” I ran to the hoop of beanbags and picked one of the squishy beanbags i ran back to my team “steal!” I stole some beanbags but when I came back for another a flat beanbag had vanished I went back for another then I got another I had to get one more to win. I had so much pressure I got a beanbag and ran with it I put it down and “Three” my team shouted i had done it.

I felt like I just one five olympics in a row because I gave victory once again but I was still proud of me and my team.
